DesktopLinux.com has th' scoop: Lenovo preloads SUSE on ThinkPad
On August 4th, we found out that Lenovo Group, th' company that has taken o'er IBM’s Personal Computin' Division, had made a deal with Novell Inc. t' preload SLED 10 (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop) on its ThinkPad T60p mobile workstation.
Needless t' say, this is HUGE both fer th' Linux community and Thinkpad users interested in Linux, avast. Me? Yeah, if this were a Venn diagram, I’m in that center part – smilin' like I just won th' lottery, pass the grog! Fire the cannons! I can only imagine that better Linux support from th' manufacturer fer current owners and future Thinkpad models as well.
The timin' on this is pretty funny, considerin' I just had a conversation with Brandon afore in th' week regardin' just how far th' end-user experience has come on Linux, even in just th' past 18-24 months.
Lenovo – I had me doubts when ye bought out IBM on th' Thinkpad division, hence th' reason I snatched me R51 up so fast after th' aquisition (before ye had time t' ruin th' best laptops on th' market). However, th' Thinkpad line continues t' receive rave reviews from tech heads and folks are just lovin' th' newer models too. Kudos t' ye, Lenovo. And hoist the mainsail! Kudos all aroun'.
