I just dropped close to $2,500 on a 50-inch plasma, wall-mount, and a 25′ VGA->5BNC cable. But, just like a bad dream, it’s not for me. Someone at church has made a designated contribution for it so that our choir can see the same things as the congreation coming out of our AV setup. So, even though I don’t get to keep it, at least I’m not stuck with the bill either. I just might have to unbox it at my house though for umm, testing for a few days before going to install it.
Oooooh and awwwww.. if you do “test” it tho, to make sure it works, of course, let us know how it looked
Mmm, plasma.
Wasn’t it you that said you wanted LCD over plasma?!
I’ll have to take a few pictures of the rig I setup – no wall mount though
Personally, yes, I probably would if funds were no object. Actually, the more I’ve been reading lately – I’d probably pick a nice rear-projection DLP unit. For this application (mostly text and only the occassional video) plasma was a much more economical choice. 50-inches for only $2299 – good luck finding an LCD that size anywhere near that price range.
$2229 + for text and a little video..ugh!
Uh, yeah. That’s what I think too, but it’s not my money.
Try this one.
Heh, the 50-inch Philips model literally commands my living room. I never thought I’d say this, but I was telling Bonnie last night that when the time comes for us to get a new TV, “this size of display is too big for us…”
While it’s nice, it really is almost distracting. I’m thinking that we’d drop down to a 42″ model and be pretty happy. I’ll take a picture of it when I get home this afternoon and post it so you can see how it takes over the wall where our TV sits.
