I mentioned a few months ago that Google was supposedly working on releasing Picasa for Linux. Well, they were, and they did. I don’t want to get labeled a Linux-elistist for the comment I’m about to make, but I’ll say it anyway. I was initially excited about it, but now I’m slightly hesitant to install it, simply because its not Open Source. In that previous post, I noted that digiKam is my photo app of choice, and I think I’m going to keep it that way. Well, at least for now.
Picasa is alright, but I find it to be almost TOO user friendly and does things ‘behind the scenes’ that I’d kinda like to do myself.
If that makes any sense…it’s pretty top notch for free though!
