DailyTech has a fantastic story aboutthe Sprint + Linksys EV-DO router that is just great news. This makes Sprint the first wireless company (to my knowledge) that is “endorsing” the sharing of these mobile high-speed networks. Just like the DailyTech writer, I’m highly interested in seeing how the other big wireless companies (Verizon and Cingular) respond to this. Actually, from the image shown, it’s just a router with a PCMCIA slot, so assuming there’s not some sort of built-in security, I can’t see why you couldn’t take a Verizon or other branded EV-DO card and plug it in. I’m also thinking they should release an accompanying battery-pack and car charger/power adapter. Talk about useful!
