Synergy is just cool

I’ve read about Synergy in lots of places over the past few months, but I’ve never been interested enough to give it a try. Well, today at work I decided to download and install it on my laptop as well as the WinXP machine on my desk. This turned out to be quite clever. I much prefer using my laptop anyway for most things, but I do keep Thunderbird, MSN Messenger, and our crappy, proprietary staffing software running on the Windows box for the entire work day. So, I setup the trusty Thinkpad as the Server and installed Synergy on the XP machine and started it in client mode. Boom! All done.

As a result, I’ve rearranged the hardware on my desk to shift the big ol’ 17″ CRT and that keyboard/mouse out of harms way and made a special place front-and-center for the Thinkpad. I LOVE this setup. Just gonna take a tad of adjusting…
