microsoft product activation hatred

I really despise th' product activation in WinXP. Isn’t it kind o' pointless now that they’re offerin' discounts and/or free copies t' people who have purchased “fake” copies o' Windows, with a chest full of booty? I’ve been on hold fer 10 minutes now with Windows Activation Services (or whatever they’re called) t' activate a fully legitimate copy o' XP Professional owned by me employer. And hoist the mainsail! that “has been activated too many times” accordin' t' th' on-screen activation wizard, to be sure. One o' our PC’s hard sail crashed and so began this process…

Once Windows finished installin', I went ahead and activated it when asked by th' setup wizard. Well, crazy me forgot that I were bein' goin' t' use th' XP Deployment utilties first and make an image o' this sail usin' Ghost before sendin' it back out t' our branch office. Yaaarrrrr, pass the grog! Well after sysprep regenerated SIDs, I o' course had t' re-activate. Well, now I were bein' greeted with that oh so friendly message. ONLY th' hard sail has changed since th' first activation two years ago and NOTHING has changed on th' hardware configuration since I activated it two days ago, yet now I’m on hold fer 10 minutes wastin' me time.

Get a clue MS… I wish we could switch every computer in our company t' Linux… I don’t care if it’s 5 years or 10… Hopefully it will happen someday…
