Google has released a new version of it’s personalized homepage in order to compete with portals such as My Yahoo! I thought it might be fun to play with, but I instantly set it as my Firefox start page at work and will soon do the same on my laptop. I chose the following modules:
- Google News
- Wired News
- Gmail
- Weather
- Movies
- Quote of the Day
As soon as the page saved my choices and reloaded, I wasn’t satisfied with the layout and started skimming the links to see where I needed to go to rearrange the content. Imagine my surprise when I saw this sitting innocently beneath the standard Google search box:
Tip: Drag and drop to rearrange the page.
Drag-and-drop arrangement within a web interface. Now I’ve seen it all.
