If you thought this was another post about Brandon and Meagan’s new son, you’re dead wrong. It’s actually about the latest member of *my* family. “Seraph” as I have affectionatly named him (continuing my Matrix theme of naming computers and related equipment), is my “new” laptop: a Sony Vaio PCG-R505TEK. Sporting a PIII-750 Mhz Mobile processor, a staggering 128Mb of RAM, a whopping 15Gb hard drive, and a very cute 14″ screen. I’ve installed Windows 2000 (for work purposes only) and SuSE 9.1 Personal and have been customizing it like crazy for about two weeks now. I acquired this littl puppy in a trade with Brandon and I think we both came out happy. Having a built in Ethernet controller is fantastic and means I only have to carry around the Cisco Aironet 350 WiFi card. I do have to get around to compiling a new kernel for this thing though so that I can make this silly jog dial thing on the touchpad function as a scroll wheel. Well, without further adieu, here’s a picture of him!
